'Secret Superstar' that stars Zaira Wasim and Aamir Khanin an extended cameo is a story of a child who aspires to be a singer. She seeks a pompous music director named Shakti Kumar (Aamir Khan) to achieve her dream.
The film that was released on October 19, 2017, had a subtle opening where it garnered Rs 4.75 crore on its opening day, subsequently earning Rs 41.16 crore by the end of its first week.
According to reports on Boxofficeindia.com, 'Secret Superstar' collected Rs 14 crore nett approx in week two which took its total to an estimated Rs 55.16 crore nett.
'Secret Superstar' is a musical drama directed by Advait Chandan. Made on a production budget of just Rs 15 crore in total, the small town film depicted a rooted story of a young girl named Insiya.
Meanwhile Character artiste Raj Arjun says the constant struggle in the initial days of his acting career was to make sure that filmmakers and audiences recognise him.
Till 'Secret Superstar' happened, it was just a fight within myself to prove my existence as an actor, to earn some money and all. In that process whatever I was offered I was doing it." the actor says.
"For this film it was an immediate yes when I got an offer from Aamir Khan's production house. I was looking for good work and this (film) came in, I think I was destined to do it," he says.
"I feel there is a responsibility that I need to do good work. I hope good work comes to me, there are very few offers that are good in nature," he adds.
