Bill Gates is one of the richest men on the planet. He made his fortune through Microsoft which is a behemoth in today’s world. Who doesn’t know Microsoft and who doesn’t know Bill Gates. He is even referred to as the most famous dropout Harvard ever had. Sorry, Mark.

Earlier in the year, Gates was at Columbia University to speak with more than 1,000 students and what he said wasn’t expected.

He said that if he were dropping out of college in the present day, he wouldn’t look at computers. He wouldn’t even look at software. This probably shocked everyone in the room as it did us when we heard it.

Just to be clear, this doesn’t mean Gates is advocating dropping out of college. As he puts it, “Education is the No. 1 priority of his foundation in the United States.”
But, in response to a question from one of the students, he revealed three sectors where he would consider pursuing a career if he were in college today:
#1 A.I. (Artificial Intelligence)
Warner Bros.
This is perhaps the only section of computer sciences that would interest him in today’s world. “The ability for artificial agents to read and understand material is going to be phenomenal," says Gates. "Anything connected with that would be an exciting lifetime career."
#2 Energy

We all know the demand for energy is growing at a rapid pace in today’s world and everyone wants to power their respective industries using reliable, cheap, and clean energy. He doesn’t believe any of the present systems will be able to offer enough energy to meet these needs and that’s why this is one of the areas where he would consider turning his attention to.
#3 Biotech
Lastly, Gates believes biosciences are “moving faster than ever” right now. He believes in the need for smart innovation while tackling obesity, depression, and cancer. DNA vaccines are the most promising according to him.
