Girls Shine In Odisha Civil Services Exam 2017:Ayushi Mahapatra has topped the OCS Examination
Ayushi Mahapatra has topped the OCS Examination, Sanjita Mohapatra and Poonam Mahapatra have secured the second and third rank respectively. Pravati Jhodia who secured 76th rank in the examination is the first girl from Jhodia community to clear the exam.Female candidates made it to the top three positions of Odisha Civil Services Examination 2017, the the results of which were declared by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) on Wednesday.
As per a notification, the Commission has provisionally selected 106 candidates in order of merit based on personality test of the Odisha Civil Services Exam 2017 that was held from December 3 to December 10, 2018.
The Preliminary Exam was conducted on 18 February 2018 while the Commission had conducted main exam from 25 June 2018 to 18 July 2018 at Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur
The selected candidates will be appointed to fill up OAS-A(JB), OFS-A(JB) and OPS-A(JB) posts.
Following the declaration of the results, an elated Ayushi Mahapatra, who topped the OCS Examination said she had never expected to secure the top most rank in one of the most competitive examinations in the state.
A Mechanical Engineer by profession, Ayushi who coincidentally celebrated her birthday said that her desire to pursue social service led her to prepare for the examinations even when she was well settled as a job holder in TATA company.

Asked about her success mantra and future plans, Ayushi said students should give most importance to sincerity and discipline and learn time management besides having a good optimism and self belief.
Giving credit to her parents for all the motivation, she said, “If I get an opportunity, I will like to work in education sector because in state like Odisha, education is a crucial factor for the development.”
Similarly, sharing her success mantra, 2nd topper Sanjita Mohapatra said preparations for Civil Services is not an one-day affair because one has to hit the ground running from the very fist day of the preparation.
“Most importantly, you have to inculcate a belief that the present day is just the beginning of preparations. Everyone has their own level of preparation and way of study so have patience and perseverance,” said Sanjita.
Out of the total, 42 female candidates have successfully cleared the civil services examination while 4 differently-abled candidates have also made it to the coveted merit list.
